Get prepared for half-term...

As a teacher, we suspect you have very little free time available? We know how time consuming lesson planning can be, and thought it might be a good idea to get ahead of planning so that you can relax and take some much needed you time this half term. Let these tools help and you will soon find your planning time slashed.

The 5 Minute Lesson Plan supports cognitive thinking and structures your thought process. Put short, it breaks down your super-complex teacher-thoughts into bitesize, digestible chunks! Arranging your thoughts into an order that makes sense — it combines everything into a beautiful visual, so you can see your lesson as a whole. This tool is customisable and can be used across all platforms such as a phone or your tablet. There is an unlimited number of plans and you can even search for plans you made years ago.

Planboard is really helpful, with teachers able to share lessons with others such as substitute teachers, or colleagues who teach the same subjects. It can be used on the go as it is available as an app. Once a lesson is created, it can be sent as a PDF for any printable content or can be shared digitally via a direct link or an embedded link in an outside website. Parents, caretakers, and students can gain also gain access if they're invited via email!

Nearpod is great because it allows teachers to create digital lesson plans, share it with students during class and track individual progress. Lessons are comprised of teacher-created slides that can include text, video, images, websites, questions, quizzes, polls, and assignments. Students can follow the lesson on their own devices at their own pace or teachers can lead a synchronized session where students can follow the lesson in real-time. These lessons can be personalised and can be used across all platforms whether that be tablet, phone or computer. It offers interaction content such as quizzes and polls which students can feed back on.

Common curriculum focuses on making planning more flexible than ever. Quickly rearrange the parts of a lesson, drag an activity you didn’t finish to tomorrow’s lesson, or even shift your lessons forward or back! The flexible templates make adding standards, rearranging activities and every other part of lesson planning more efficient and collaborative.  An exciting feature is their new lesson importer, letting you search your old planbooks (or your colleague's planbooks) and then quickly reuse any combination of lessons or units.

Evernote is an impressive productivity tool that helps teachers arrange their lives in the form of an organizational app. It has a wide range of features ranging from planning a course to delivering a lesson plan to capturing feedback after class. It allows you to take notes, capture photos, create to-do lists, record voice reminders and makes these notes completely searchable, whether you are at school, at home, or on the go. This productivity tool can shift the way kids manage information in school and the way teachers share it. Evernote can be used for creating student portfolios, lesson planning and classroom management.

Why not give these a try and see the difference they can make!
